Kayla & Joe’s Denver Wedding: California Cool Meets Mile-High Magic
Some couples just have it. Kayla and Joe brought this effortless California energy to their Denver wedding — laid-back, stylish, and genuinely excited to be getting married. The whole day had that ease to it.
Getting Ready & First Looks

We started the morning at their Airbnb where everyone was getting ready. Kayla and Joe had their first look there, surrounded by their closest people. Then Kayla had her first look with her dad. Those father-daughter moments always hit differently — quiet and emotional in the best way.
Civic Center Park Portraits
From there we headed to Civic Center Park with their families and friends for portraits. The summer greens were perfect, and we found some great spots with classic Denver architecture without fighting too many weekend crowds. Everyone was relaxed and present, which made for some really natural, unforced shots.

Catholic Mass at Cathedral Basilica
Their ceremony was a full Catholic wedding mass at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. The space is absolutely stunning — soaring architecture, intricate gold details, beautiful light filtering through. The mass with communion felt deeply meaningful and reverent, but still carried their relaxed spirit somehow. It was a beautiful balance.

Space Gallery Reception
The reception moved to Space Gallery (@spacegallerydenver), a modern art venue with clean lines and bold pieces throughout. It matched their aesthetic perfectly — contemporary and polished without being pretentious.

Instead of a traditional plated dinner, they brought in two food trucks: Carrera’s Tacos (@carrerastacos) and Mangia Mangia from Estes Park (@mangiamangiaestespark). Larimer Catering (@larimercatering) kept the food flowing throughout the evening. They swapped wedding cake for cinnamon rolls, which was a crowd favorite.
With A Twist (@withatwistbartending) handled the bar service, and DJ Sean Spins (@djseanspins) kept the dance floor packed all night. The energy was high from the first dance through the last song.

The VW Bus Exit
They made their getaway in Joe’s bright orange classic Volkswagen bus. Honestly couldn’t have been more perfect.

What Made It Theirs

From the intimate first looks to the sacred Cathedral mass to food trucks and dancing at Space Gallery, everything about Kayla and Joe’s wedding felt intentional and authentic. No pretense, just a day that genuinely reflected who they are. That orange VW bus was just the cherry on top.
