Why Does Everyone Get Married in June?

Now that June is winding down and our memory cards are officially full, it’s the perfect time to stop and ask—why is this month always packed with weddings?

Yes, the weather is stunning. The florals are in full bloom. And if you’re a wedding photographer, you’re probably running on iced coffee and endorphins. But there’s actually a deeper reason June has held the title of “most popular wedding month” for centuries.

It goes all the way back to ancient Rome, where June was named after Juno, the goddess of marriage, home, and family. Couples believed getting married in her month would bring good luck, a strong start to married life, and blessings for the future. And that little bit of symbolism stuck around.

Today, June weddings are still a favorite—for the dreamy golden light, the abundance of in-season blooms, and the ease of planning around summer schedules. As a Colorado wedding photographer, this month has always been one of our busiest and most beautiful. The light, the energy, the love stories—it’s all kind of magic.

So to celebrate, I’m sharing a few of our favorite June weddings from this season. Scroll through for all the sweet moments, stunning details, and that soft early-summer glow we can’t get enough of.
